Terms & Legal

The short version
Keystone tools are for reference. They help you calculate and check your work, but they don't replace your professional judgement, and the Authority Having Jurisdiction always has the final say.
1. About these terms
These terms apply to keystonefieldsystems.com and to any pre-release access to Keystone software, including Keystone E-Calc, provided by Keystone Field Systems ("Keystone", "we", "us"). By using the site or the software, you agree to them. Released apps may come with additional terms.
2. Reference use only
Calculations, code references and other outputs are provided for informational and reference purposes. They are not a substitute for the professional judgement of a qualified, licensed person, for engineered or stamped designs where they are required, or for an inspection. You are responsible for verifying every result before relying on it.
3. The Authority Having Jurisdiction has final say
Electrical work is governed by the electrical code adopted in your jurisdiction and by the authority that enforces it. In Ontario, that is the Electrical Safety Authority (ESA) under the Ontario Electrical Safety Code. Elsewhere it is the applicable provincial, territorial or municipal authority. Wherever their interpretation, a permit condition or an inspector's direction differs from a Keystone result, theirs governs.
4. Code editions and amendments
The Canadian Electrical Code is published by CSA Group. Provinces and territories adopt editions on their own schedules and often with local amendments. You are responsible for confirming which edition and amendments apply to your work. Keystone Field Systems is not affiliated with, or endorsed by, CSA Group or any Authority Having Jurisdiction.
5. Pre-release software
Keystone E-Calc is in development. Features described on this site may change, and we make no commitment about release dates or availability. Pre-release builds may contain errors.
6. No warranty
The site and software are provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and accuracy, to the fullest extent permitted by law.
7. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Keystone Field Systems is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for any loss arising from reliance on calculations or content, including property damage, injury, failed inspections, rework or project delays.
8. Privacy and email consent
When you use our forms, we collect only what you enter:
- Waitlist: your email address, and optionally your name, the kind of work you do, and your province or territory.
- Contact form: your name, email address, subject and message.
We use this information to manage the early-access waitlist, to tell you about the launch of Keystone E-Calc if you have consented, and to reply to your messages. We do not sell your information. It is stored and processed by our service providers (Cloudflare for hosting and data storage, and Resend for email delivery), which may process it outside Canada.
We only send waitlist emails to people who have given express consent on our form. Every email we send includes a way to unsubscribe. To withdraw consent, or to ask us to access, correct or delete your information, email info@keystonefieldsystems.com.
9. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply there.
10. Changes and contact
We may update these terms. The "last updated" date above shows when they last changed. For questions, contact info@keystonefieldsystems.com.
